The U.S. is the global leader of biomedical innovation, and other nations are not paying their fair share for America’s groundbreaking research and development. Other rich countries use government price controls to limit their spending on brand drugs.

President Trump has urged these countries to end the freeloading and start investing. While the U.K. answered the call and agreed to pay more for US brand drugs, other nations, including France, Germany, and Japan, are doubling down on socialist-style price controls.
